Is Time An Issue – Pt 5

The point is, you have the power to live the life you desire, when you are willing to accept responsibility for where you are now. No one has forced you to be where you are, you simply did what you believed was required based on your past conditioning. Without awareness, you have felt as though you had no power, and unconsciously you perpetuated the same circumstances.

Remember, this is not about the “time” or what you do with your time, it’s about bringing awareness to this moment that has you then create the next moment consciously. Your conscious awareness is what has life become brighter, from there your choices open up and you can begin to become the deliberate creator you were born to be.

See if you can become aware of when you say to someone that you don’t have time and notice how that feels within you.

Warmest Regards,

Angelo Campione

When the Student is Ready… Pt 3

This is the final part of this article and probably the most important thing to get from this post is that as students, we get to choose which direction we want to go in.

What this means is that life (as the teacher), doesn’t impose itself onto us, whenever we’re ready, we get what we need. The sooner we realise that we are the ones that create our reality, the sooner we get to live more joyfully.

The only reason that things may not be going as you would like them to go is because you haven’t yet opened up to new possibilities and life (as the teacher), keeps showing you difficulties so that you look for a new way.

So you see, even when things are not as we like, there are little gems to help us to change direction.

The question is, are you willing to give up that old conditioned part of you?

Much Love,

Angelo Campione

When are Thoughts, Not “Thinking”?

Henry Ford once said, “Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason why so few engage in it.”

Why would he say this, when it seems that all we do is think all day long?

It would seem that the thinking Henry is talking about is not the same thinking that we associate with in daily life.

My interpretation is that real thinking requires consciousness with an awareness that understands that thoughts are not fixed, they can be manipulated and directed by us, and therefore we are “free” to choose what we think.

Most of the time in our daily lives though, our mind is simply busy with thoughts of no real value, what we saw on TV, a song we heard, what someone said to you recently or some belief you have about yourself. We’re not consciously choosing these thoughts, it’s just head chatter that enables us to exist in the world in a basic instinct mode.

Examples of thinkers are, Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Dale Carnegie, Henry Ford and Isaac Newton. Why were they different to most people? Some would say these people were great visionaries but I suspect that they simply understood that they could direct their mind to “think” in such a way that enabled them to see greater possibilities for the future.

The question is, do you really want to reclaim your freedom so that you can have choice?

The mindfulness practices I’ve talking about in previous emails are a great start, and, I know that old conditioning can still get in the way. So if you’d like to be guided in a step-by-step way on how to use your mind to think with consciousness that feels good and will ultimately lead to serious change, check out this link:

I think that what Leslie has created here is of great value and if you haven’t read “The Jack Rabbit Factor” yet, please do so ASAP (you can get it through the same link).

When Disease Isn’t Disease

A few people have asked me to discuss diseases and how to overcome them.

My view is that we don’t “overcome” anything, we only ever resist or allow, these are the only choices, whether we’re aware of it or not.

There’s an old school of thought that believes struggle and effort is required to achieve the things we want in life and this has carried through to wellness. As if somehow, once you find yourself with an illness, you need to struggle or force something in order to get well again!

I often hear on TV people saying things like, the “fight against” this or that (often for cancer) and because of the emotion behind it, a lot of people believe that fighting is the way. I see this as a misguided use of energy, the illness is not an enemy it’s simply an indicator for where you’re at in this moment. The circumstances you find yourself in, in this moment, are an accumulation of the responses (or in most cases, reactions) to situations you have set up for yourself.

So lets say you find yourself with an illness now and you think you have to fight it, the way it works is that life senses your vibration of wanting a fight, and so a fight is what you get (remember, life doesn’t differentiate, it totally allows you to have whatever is dominant in you). So if you feel the need to resist or see yourself as a battler in any way, the wellness that you really want, won’t truly happen, you simply get to a point of being so tired of resisting (fighting) that wellness is then allowed. It’s either that, or you die and again life allows whatever to be fine.

Have you noticed how well we heal when we rest? We offer no resistance to the illness and thereby allow the body’s intelligence to take care of things. If you doubt this, consider how rarely animals get sick, even when they do, it’ll be because of the energy they absorb from the owner!

I like the way Abraham-Hicks says it, “there is no disease, there is simply the disallowance of wellness”

Our essence is one of joy, light and abundance and we are so powerful that we can block off wellness, so that the impression of disease seems to be a separate entity that attacks us.

Think of it this way, a dark room is only dark because there is an absence of light, the light, which you have the power to switch on, is an energy source and therefore “something”. In order to have light you do not need the absence of darkness to be there, light has an energy source whereas darkness is simply what you’re left with when that energy source is not there.

Following on from this reasoning, disease is the absence of our own presence (which happens when we lose connection with the light within us by getting lost in the mind), which causes a misalignment within and the body produces a condition to indicate that an imbalance has occurred, it’s then up to us to find our way to alignment again.

The main issue is that we don’t realise our own power and so we use a negative situation to feel the power. If you look at any situation that’s considered negative and then feel anger, frustration, resentment, sadness, righteousness or helplessness, you’ll notice that it enables you to release a form of power that actually feels good. It’s a backward way we’ve learned to experience our power and in some cases we experience it as an illness.

The way I see disease is as dis-ease, i.e. a lack of ease. When we get caught up in a situation, whether it’s financial issues, relationship issues, the death of a loved one, or whatever, we respond/react internally in a certain way. The response will either be one of allowance and acceptance of what is (ease) or of resistance to what is (dis-ease). Most often it’s the latter and while we don’t see the instant manifestation of this dis-ease, over a period of time the accumulation of this lack of ease shows up physically in one form or another.

I know that what I’m saying here is not easy to accept if you’ve lived your whole life seeing illness as something that just happens. However if you accept that you have the power to create, then for no other reason than consistency, you accept that illness is your creation also.

Become aware of when you are resisting something and begin allowing, your body will thank you for it.

I wish you continued allowance of wellness,

Angelo Campione

Hospital Window

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room’s only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end.

They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.

Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.

The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.

The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.

As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by.

Although the other man couldn’t hear the band – he could see it. In his mind’s eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.

Days and weeks passed.

One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.

As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.

Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside.

He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed.

It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window.

The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall.

She said, “Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you.”

Epilogue:

There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations.

Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled.
If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can’t buy.

“Today is a gift, that’s why it is called the present.”

The origin of this letter is unknown.

Do You Find Yourself Often Saying, “I Don’t have Time!”?

We all live with, 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week, so when someone asks you to do something, do you find yourself saying, “I’d like to, but I don’t have time”?

If so, what you’re doing is stating that there are other things in your life that take priority over what’s being asked of you, it’s not that you don’t have the time at all. Time is one of those convenient excuses that people tend to use often to politely say they really aren’t interested in doing something.

This may sound harsh, but in truth we all have time for whatever we truly want to do, or think we need to do. Lets say you genuinely feel that you don’t have time, you work 60 hours a week and when you add travel to and from work, cooking, eating, sleeping and showering, you find that it doesn’t leave much time for anything else (and if you have children, it’s even less time for you!).

Then lets say that all of a sudden there’s a situation where you or a family member needs to go to hospital, time seems to be found! Where did the time come from? Well, the time didn’t come from anywhere, there was simply a reallocation from the time you were spending in one area, to this new area. You have a new priority and everything else gets put on the back burner until you or your family member recuperates.

This is an extreme case and it’s really just to highlight that we can allocate time for anything that is a priority to us

Now I’m sure if you feel strongly about your commitments you’ll be wanting to defend your position and say things like, “well if I don’t put so many hours in at work, the bills won’t get paid and we’ll lose our house”, or something to that effect. If that’s the case, then quite frankly, you’re out of balance and most likely, living beyond your means. The circumstances you’re in now are simply a reflection of what you believe. The idea that you need to live in a certain neighbourhood, or a certain type of house, or drive a certain type of car, or send the kids to a certain type of school all stem from preconditioned thoughts of the way you see life, it’s not set in stone, you can change this if you choose.

Now don’t get wrong, you should live the lifestyle your heart desires, and maybe there are other ways of attracting money that doesn’t involve you devoting so much of your time. Ultimately, you deserve to live a life that is a reflection of your abundant, joyous Self, it’s just that you may not have found a way to do it so that you are in harmony with YOU.

So what happens if you do choose to take things a bit easier and some things don’t get done? It means that they’ll either get done later, someone else will do it or it won’t get done at all. It’ll all depend on the importance of it to you. And if you find that your employer doesn’t have your well being as a priority, then there are other employers that do and you may want to seek them out.

Having said all this, changing the way you operate is not so easy. You may find that you make changes like working less and learning to smell the roses but then it brings up feelings of guilt that has you feel indulgent, or that you don’t really deserve to live a life that is easier or free of struggle. If this is the case, I suggest you look at some of my previous articles that deal with how the mind works and how you can begin to reclaim your power.

Celebrate Growing Older

This is definitely worth sharing:

Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland, Ohio
.
“To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me.  It is the most-requested column I’ve ever written..

My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:

1.       Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.

2.       When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3.       Life is too short to waste time hating anyone…

4.       Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick.  Your friends and parents will.  Stay in touch.

5.       Pay off your credit cards every month.

6.       You don’t have to win every argument.  Agree to disagree.

7.       Cry with someone. It’s more healing than crying alone.

8.       It’s OK to get angry with God.  He can take it.

9.       Save for retirement starting with your first pay check.

10.     When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11.     Make peace with your past so it won’t screw up the present.

12.     It’s OK to let your children see you cry.

13.     Don’t compare your life to others.  You have no idea what their journey is all about.

14.     If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn’t be in it.

15.     Everything can change in the blink of an eye.  But don’t worry; God never blinks.

16.     Take a deep breath.  It calms the mind.

17..     Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful.

18.     Whatever doesn’t kill you really does make you stronger.

19.     It’s never too late to have a happy childhood.  But the second one is up to you and no one else.

20.     When it comes to going after what you love in life, don’t take no for an answer.

21.     Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don’t save it for a special occasion, Today is special.

22.     Over prepare, then go with the flow.

23.     Be eccentric now.  Don’t wait for old age to wear purple.

24.     The most important sex organ is the brain.

25.     No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

26.     Frame every so-called disaster with these words ‘In five years, will this matter?’

27.     Always choose life.

28.     Forgive everyone and everything.

29.     What other people think of you is none of your business.

30.     Time heals almost everything.  Give it time.

31.     However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

32.     Don’t take yourself so seriously.  No one else does.

33.     Believe in miracles.

34.     God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn’t do.

35.     Don’t audit life.  Show up and make the most of it now.

36.     Growing old beats the alternative — dying young.

37.     Your children get only one childhood.

38.     All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

39.     Get outside every day.  Miracles are waiting everywhere.

40.     If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back..

41.     Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

42.     The best is yet to come.

43.     No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

44.     Yield.

45.     Life isn’t tied with a bow, but it’s still a gift.”

How to Thrive during Recession

When you hear everyone talking about recession, it tends to bring up feeling of negativity and one that generally doesn’t feel very good. So lets see if we can find a way neutralise it.

To start things off lets look at the word “recession”. Economists have their definition, which really doesn’t mean much to most people but in reality, recession is a receding, a contraction or a becoming smaller in some way. It means there is the impression that less exists where before there was more.

If you think about in terms of the sea, the tide constantly moves, when the tide goes out, it gives the impression that the sea has receded. In reality though, the water has simply flowed elsewhere, there’s still an abundance of water that’s always there.

Knowing that a recession then, is simply an “appearance” of something becoming less, we can then focus on what is REAL.

What exactly is REAL?

REAL, comes from the Spanish word meaning Royal (of the King) and if you think of a kingdom, what is “of the king”? Everything, and everyone, abides by the King. In this sense, your true Self is the king and the universe is Self’s kingdom.

So focusing on what’s real, means to focus on all possibilities existing at the same time and that you can choose to see whatever you want (and this requires you to be aware of the thoughts that you are taking as real).

With the awareness that all possibilities exist at the same time, you can choose to see that abundance is the order of the day and it all starts with being open to the possibility that you can have this reality.

So lets look at the practicalities of this, you say that you’re in debts and don’t have the money to pay for them, the appearance is that there’s not enough money to cover all the bills. Is that REAL? You may say, “Yes, it’s a fact that my bank account is bare”, but can you categorically, 100%, know that the money to cover the bills won’t show up? My guess is that you don’t know that absolutely, it’s simply a belief based on what you see in front of you. And a belief is just something you keep telling yourself that you have accepted as true.

So if you don’t know with absolute certainty that the money to cover your bills won’t show up, Where does that take you?

It takes you to “I don’t know”. It’s not very comfortable at first to say that because we all like to think that we have all the answers and we like to think that we know where we’re going, but in truth, very few of us truly know anything. And that’s ok.

Having arrived at “I don’t know”, we are then free/open to the possibility of having a solution present itself. You may begin to have thoughts of exciting new possibilities that inspire you to try new things, take steps that you hadn’t previously considered, but it all start with allowing yourself to be “open to the possibility” of goodness to come to you. After all, all the abundance is still there, it’s just that a majority of people began to focus on the lack, instead of the abundance.

The bottom line is that you have a choice even though on the surface it seems that you don’t. The choice comes with being open to the possibilities that goodness CAN come to you regardless of what anyone else is going through. It all depends on what story you choose to tell yourself, and you do have the choice of telling yourself a story that feels great to you, if you just bring some awareness.

In summary,

  1. You have the appearance of something, that doesn’t feel good to you
  2. You ask yourself, is this appearance the truth?
  3. Do you know that with absolute 100% certainty? (In other words, is it possible that an alternative scenario exists?)
  4. Chances are that you don’t know with certainty and an alternative scenario is always possible, so you come back and sit with, “I don’t know”.
  5. Out of the “I don’t know” comes the opening for possibilities that goodness can come to you.
  6. You begin to enjoy thoughts of exciting new possible futures and feel better about your prospects
  7. You take action through inspiration (as opposed to desperation) and life starts to feel good.
  8. New opportunities and fortuitous meetings begin to show up and you get back on track.
  9. Life’s good, it always is.

Follow Your Joy

I was noticing how when we want to achieve something, a goal of some sort, it starts with a thought and we then try to formulate how to get it (using the mind again). But a realisation that I had was that it’s not the minds purpose to work out “how” to get it.

Our thoughts create what we want in a non-physical sense, and then to receive it in the physical sense, requires letting go of “how” and “when” it will come, and simply trusting that it’s on its way to us in the best possible route.

This isn’t easy to do because we’re all so used to getting things through “action”, we often think that as long as we take action, everything will be sorted out. But often action alone just feels like struggle and pain, which actually stops us from receiving what we want!

I recall a time around 6 or 7 years ago where I’d started a home based business in the health and nutrition area. I was passionate about it and was taking lots of action, however there came a point where I realised that in order to make a living from this, it was going to require more effort, so I thought if I keep taking action, in time I would make a living from it. By this stage 18 months went by and I had the realisation that I could actually make a lot of money with this business, but I would die as a result of it! (Yes, I know, ironic for the health and nutrition industry)

You see, we can “force” ourselves to do things, but the price we pay energetically is very high and this takes a toll on the physical body. This is why it’s important to be vigilant/mindful that what we want is to flow with life and flowing with life actually feels really good.

So while we “think” that taking a certain action will lead us to where we want to go, it’s more important to be getting in touch with your feelings and if something doesn’t feel good, that’s your sign to change course.

If we can learn to be ok with the uncertainty of not knowing how it’s all going to turn out, we release the limitations we place on things and allow the life force to flow through us and do its thing beautifully.

I recall watching the winter Olympics one time and saw an interview with a guy that had just won the gold medal in the moguls event. He was asked whether he had seen himself winning and what he would do when he won. To my surprise he said no, he said he simply focused on the skiing and doing the best he could, even though he wanted to win, he hadn’t really thought about it.

This is the power of simply enjoying and flowing with what feels good!

So to sum it up, don’t do something just because of what you “think” it will get you, do it because there is true joy in doing it and if that means you need to change things (and possibly upset others), so be it.

Follow your joy, it’s important!
